Description: Qualitative approaches are becoming increasingly popular in health services research, yet they are often misunderstood. This session will outline important considerations when designing qualitative studies: from research questions suited to qualitative inquiry, through sampling, to strategies for data collection and analysis. Suitable for researchers new to qualitative methods, we will examine both technical and theoretical aspects of qualitative research, as well as considerations for mixed methods design. Practical tips will be combined with examples from the field, drawing on our backgrounds and experience.

This session is open to:

– research coordinators

– physicians

– Nurses, and clinicians working in research hospitals affiliated with U of T.
